Weight Loss Activities That Work for Women
From walking the beautiful shoreline of the La Jolla Cove, to enjoying a Zumba class in our $35 million fitness center, Wellspring will get you moving—but always at a pace that's within your comfort zone and works for your fitness level.
You'll receive individualized fitness and weight training with your Wellspring personal trainer, working with you one on one and in small groups to help you improve muscle strength, cardio fitness and gain confidence using equipment and participating in fitness classes.
Our personal trainers are attuned to the physical limitations that excess weight can create, and will offer a variety of classes to enable you to choose the best workout for your body. Together, we will work to design activities and exercises that you will find fun and invigorating, and that you can continue at home.
Walking is a big part of our program as it is something that everyone will be able to continue at home; regardless of location, time or finances. Participants walk to and from classes and meals and it is amazing the results that these simple steps achieve, including improved muscle tone, balance, cardio and strength. For the more adventurous, we also take our walks to the beautiful beach and Torrey Pines State Park.
In addition to the daily activities you'll enjoy on campus and in the scenic areas surrounding La Jolla, we also treat our guests to trips to some of Southern California's most exciting tourist destinations. For a complete list of trips and dates, click here.

Attainable Fitness Goals
Whatever the fitness activity, you will track your activity levels each day so that you can immediately begin gauging your progress. That's why all guests and staff wear pedometers and carry their self-monitoring journals with them at all times. We target a minimum of 10,000 steps per day, but most guests will get 15,000 steps per day or more.
By tracking your steps everyday, you develop the habit of setting simple, attainable daily activity goals and recording your success in your journal. This simple habit has been proven to make a lasting impact on long-term weight loss success.
